Chiayi County cooperates with the Environmental Protection Agency of the Executive Yuan to promote the low-carbon sustainable home policy and continues to promote various measures for the operation of low-carbon sustainable homes in the county. This plan includes three major areas: greenhouse gas control, low-carbon sustainable homes, and ritual reduction. For the purpose of effectively integrating resources in various fields and assisting in the handling of related matters, in order to improve Chiayi County’s greenhouse gas control implementation plan, two inter-bureau meetings on the greenhouse gas control implementation plan were held, and through the greenhouse gas carbon emissions of Chiayi County administrative districts and government agencies After inventory work to understand the greenhouse gas emission characteristics of the county, the total greenhouse gas emissions of Chiayi County's administrative jurisdiction in 110 years totaled 5.81334 million metric tons of CO2e, and the total net greenhouse gas emissions totaled 5.29446 million metric tons of CO2e. We also promote businesses related to climate change and low-carbon sustainable homes, provide relevant education and training courses for low-carbon communities in the county, and assist them in formulating community sustainable development plans based on local industries, local characteristics, disaster potential, etc. Promote the construction of low-carbon and sustainable action projects in accordance with the community planning blueprint, implement energy conservation and carbon reduction work, and create a low-carbon and sustainable home environment in the county. To handle the work of reducing the number of sacrifices, a new friendly demonstration area was added this year, Xibei Liuxing Temple. There are currently three demonstration areas in order to reduce the environmental burden caused by burning paper money, worshiping incense and other folk activities in Chiayi County. During the implementation of this project, a total of 60 temples with index and environmental protection status were visited, and relevant policy promotion and explanation were carried out and background information was updated during the process. In order to reduce the pollution caused by the open burning of paper money, 17 temples have signed a "Letter of Cooperation on Paper Money Reduction" in response to the reduction, and 28 temples have replaced part of the gold paper with rice grains. During this year's Qingming Festival, paper money collection stations were set up at cemeteries and bone towers in various towns and cities. The centralized carrying capacity of paper money reached 180.96 metric tons. A total of 2 furnace-cleaning prayer ceremonies were held during the Qingming Festival and the Chinese New Year period. ; According to statistics, the amount of paper money applied for centralized burning by cemeteries and bone pagodas in 2012 was 308.12 tons. The total amount of paper money burned by temples within the jurisdiction was 48.69 metric tons. Including other units, the total amount of paper money applied for was 358.56 metric tons.
